Introduction:

I have been practicing psychotherapy and substance use counseling for over 20 years in a variety of settings including individual and group counseling, inpatient services, psychiatric outreach, rehabilitation programs and social service agencies.  Areas of specialization include Dual-Diagnosis Counseling (Mental Health problems along with Substance Use problems); Adjustment Counseling for issues related to Aging, Changes in Health, and Disability; and Adolescent and Young Adult Counseling for help with self-esteem.

Professional Credentials:

I have earned a Doctorate in Psychology from NationalUniversity, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Adler University, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling from Boston University. I have taught psychology as adjunct faculty at North Shore Community College, and offered a range of Workshops related to Mental Health Counseling, and Substance Abuse Prevention Interventions. Prior to becoming a mental health counselor, I earned several degrees in architecture and practiced for 15 years, working on a variety of nonprofit housing, educational facilities, and health care projects.
